Ancestral History of Exercise

Flow Alkaline Spring Water | Reminder: Get off your phone and get outside.

Ever wonder why you're not super motivated to workout? It's not your fault, it's biological!

Physical activity—like hunting and building shelter—was a must-have for survival. Because of this, we developed the smart habit of resting to save energy for more important activities, like running away from lions... Today, we don’t need to be physical to survive (love you, Uber Eats). Our “laziness” is actually a hard-wired biological survival mechanism. So, even though we know we should wake up for that 6 am HIIT class, we just don’t want to. It's not because we're lazy, it's because we're saving our energy for hunting and running away from predators!

Here are some motivation tips for those days you were on your way to the gym but ended up in bed instead.

+ Do a workout you actually love.

NEWSFLASH: You don’t have to go on a run if you don’t want to!

+ Find an exercise buddy.

Everything's better with a friend.  Plus, it adds some friendly competition for extra motivation.

+ Move to your own beat.

Create a playlist full of your favorite songs to pump up your workout.

+ Set a reward.

Treat yourself to a new outfit, massage, or smoothie for doing the impossible—we mean, your workout.
